FAQs
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY CHARCUTERIE OR CUTTING BOARD?
The best way to care for your charcuterie board, cutting board, or any wooden product, is with beeswax board butter! It not just helps to keep the product food grade, but it keeps the wood moist, healthy, and will keep it from drying out and splitting. We recommend to apply it at least once a month. Need some? Check it out in our shop here!
CAN THE CHARCUTERIE AND CUTTING BOARDS GO THROUGH THE DISHWASHER?
We highly recommend not to put your charcuterie and cutting boards through the dishwasher, or soak them in water. The high heat of the dishwasher could cause the epoxy in the board to warp, but it definitely will remove the shellac and beeswax board butter finish. If this does happen, we can give you a quote for repairing any wooden product; whether it was bought from us or someone else. Please contact us about it!
IS EPOXY RESIN EVEN SAFE??
In liquid form, it is not recommended to ingest. However! Once it is completely cured and hardened, it is 100% safe to use in contact with food! Fun fact: The same kind of epoxy resin that we use is also used to coat the inside of all beverage cans! We also take it a step further! The traditional shellac finish that we use is not just food safe, but it is food grade! So don’t be concerned, the epoxy in charcuterie boards and tables are completely safe!
